TYTHE – “AND ALWAYS WITH YOU”

Having already delved into remixing the likes of Moby and MGMT, electro DJ/producer Julian Peck has created his debut album ‘And Also With You’ under the moniker of Tythe delivering an album ideal for those post club chill out moments.

The album’s intro ‘Alpine Dawn’ has a meditation vibe to it, with its incorporation of natural sounds leading nicely into the beats on ‘Totem Poles’ setting the scene for when despite the late nights, you still want to stay up and relax for a little longer.

The next track ‘Summerbelly’ features vocals from singer songwriter Merz and is the albums single, which although accompanied with a sparse video doesn’t really do the album justice and sees Tythe going off on a tangent creating a more commercial tune than the minimalistic approach to the rest of the tracks on offer.

However move on a couple of numbers and ‘Set in Drone’ has the electro sounds mixed with eastern percussion, before the vocals creep back in for ‘The Light’ in a more subtle and appropriate manner than the aforementioned single which helps add more depth to the release.

This certainly isn’t an album you’d put on when getting ready for a night on the town, but ‘Dream Sequence’ and album closer ‘Motorick’ are a little more upbeat yet still encompassing the mesmerizing sounds that on the whole, makes this album work as a complete piece of art before ending on the sounds of the sea rounding it off in the same vein as it started.

So when the club has called time and you fancy that one last drink back at home with your mates, or a nice cup of tea before calling it a night, stick on And Also With You and relax to the ethereal sounds of Tythe and his electronic journey.
