Having recently played with local bands from the heavier end of the metal spectrum, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the south coast outfit Core of IO and their debut single “It’s All Yours”, but from the opening guitar lick the technical element of the band is soon apparent before being followed by vocals that are of a more melodic nature, rather than loud and shouty like some of their counterparts, making for a refreshing change.
On first listen there seemed to be an element of Metallica’s James Hetfield when the vocals kicked in, but having also checked out Core of IO’s previous demo “14 Stitches” before returning to the single it showed both tracks complement each other and the direction in which the band are heading, making “It’s All Yours” a definite grower and certainly worth listening to alongside the aforementioned demo in order to fully appreciate the track on offer.
